Adapting to protein/Milk intake

Hey guys, fairly new to this site. First post.

I've just recently started a gaining diet while gyming. This diet consists of 2 mass gain shakes with milk a day as well as fairly high protein throughout the day. This is very different to my previous lazy diet while not going to the gym.
I have been having a lot of phlegm build up and feeling all round pretty head sick. I have heard that a sudden increase in protein or dairy can cause this although I have done this in the past and been fine..

Just wondering if anyone's had similar issues and if/when the body might adapt to this and stop making me feel so crap.
Only about a week in
