Hello,
I am 6ft
20 years old
Weigh 169 pounds currently.
I started a bulk around 4-5 months ago starting at around 153 pounds, so gained 16 pounds in that time.
I have made progress in the gym with my numbers (I track each training session, reps, weight etc and make sure I beat it session by session). However, I have accumulated fat in my abdominal and lower back region. Not an excessive amount, but to a point where if I where a tight t-shirt then it can be visible at times. Which has made me quite self-conscious in the gym. There has been some fat gain in my arms but again not excessive, the rest of my body looks lean enough.
This was my first bulk so I experimented with my calorie level, going from 3300 calories a day to a week down to 2800 calories a day a week. I feel like that is a reason why I may have gained my fat, as I think my suitbale level is around 2800-2900 calories a day. Some days in a week I do have 'junk food' which is hard to track calorie wise.
I am currently undergoing a mini cut for 3 weeks during my exams, to lose some of the fat. At around 2000-2100 calories a day, and trying to go gym as much as possible (it can be difficult due to a lot of studying in this period).
Do you feel that I should be doing this mini cut and should I continue to go with 2800 calories when I re-continue my bulk after my exams are finished?
And any other advice you may have? As even though I have trained for about 2 years, it was only 5 months ago I have stuck to a proper training plan and tried to follow my calorie count. I would like to say on the bulk my numbers have progressive massively in the gym, and I have noticed a change in my physique apart from the fat again.
Thank you
