Hello,
I have recently started my first bulk, I have been lifting for about 4 months now, mostly cutting. I am 20yo, about 175cm / 5'9" tall, and weight around 75 kg / 165lbs and decided that I want to look bigger, as I lack muscle mass, so I decided to bulk.
I am currently eating at around 3300 - 3400 calories a day, aiming at 1lb per week, primarily by eating fats and protein and trying to keep carbs at around 200-250g a day (I have a hard time eating carbs, so that's why I decided to focus on fats instead). I get around 1.5g per pound of body weight each day, sometimes more in terms of protein, so that's not an issue either. I will be bulking for a period of like ~6 months. I train 5 days a week, the usual routine of chest-tri, back-bi, etc. while making sure I hit chest twice a week (Monday and Thursday) as it is my most lacking area.
I have read a lot from older threads that gaining around 2kg / 4 pounds a month is considered a fast bulk, and it might result in more fat than lean mass. The thing is, most of these threads don't specify for how long the person has been training for and if its either a beginner or not. I think I still have some newbie gains in me, as during my cut I was still gaining a little bit of muscle while I was still losing fat, so I was thinking that during the bulk period, I will maximize gaining the most amount of muscle possible, however I would still like some opinions on this.
I am just one week into my bulk, so it's easy for me to make adjustments.
Thanks!
