Hello,
This is my first post, so thanks in advance and excuse my niaivity! I have tried to find the answer to this question on here and other forums, but struggled.
Brief background:
Been working out seriously for a year... Was skinny fat so cut first, then maintained, then bulked and went through a cut for a holiday I have just been on. I am really happy with my progress in a year #noobgainsftw. I've been doing a lot of research on here and YouTube etc... And feel I'm making good progress against all the various "benchmarks" of where I should be after a year of lifting.
Anyway, my issue is that day 1 of the holiday I thought I looked really good; decent muscle mass, low body fat etc... (I am not going to win any awards, but miles of progress from where I was a year ago). After 3/4 days of heavy drinking and eating I could barely see my abs... I am certain majority of this is water weight and am not worried about losing it v quickly when back to normal, BUT how do I limit the water weight gained during the holiday? I am going to drink a lot and eat a lot and don't want to be the guy in the corner having a chicken salad and on the water. So usual answers of: drink lots of water, exercise, low carbs, low salt aren't really for me! Would either pills help with the water retention? Do any of you have any suggestions when the drinking and eating is for a week or so rather than just one night of excess?
TLDR - Gym noob wants to not lose his physique to water retention while eating and drinking like a slob for a week!
Thanks!
Mark
