My girlfriend has been on a 1400 calorie diet but has been gaining weight. She's 5'7" about 161lbs. Before starting college she was losing weight but now she's gaining. She doesn't dorm or eat out much except for a sandwich if she's hungry. Generally gets calories from carbs but no more than 1400 a day. She does under eat sometimes. Is it just stress from school? Should she increase calories? Shes going to be weightlifting and doing cardio now. She averages foods without labels, getting her a food scale soon. She's getting very frustrated, any help would be appreciated.
