Fruit smoothie question

Ok so I have heard that if you eat the same amount of fruit compared to blending it all and drinking it you will gain more weight from the smoothie.

Is this true?

I regularly have homemade protein smoothie shakes but don't wanna be having them if it turns out they are gonna lead to extra weight gain.
