Should I have a post workout meal ?

If I eat a big meal of protein / carbs / fats 1-3 hours before a workout , is it necessary to have a post workout meal or the protein and carbs I had before a workout will be enough to restore glycogen and muscle synthesis post workout too ?
Also is it ok if I eat carbs close to a workout , maybe 30 mins pre workout ? It doesn’t make me feel full or something
