Is very high protein diet dangerous ?

Hey, just want to ask. Im skinny-fat , dont know if cut or bulk , but my friend is personal trainer, so he told me advice, that if i will be in a very small caloric deficit and be in high protein diet (he said like 1,5 - 2g of protein per pound of BW) that it will be best solution for me, slow and steady losing fat and gain muscle. That amount of protein is no problem for me to eat, but problem is - is it healthy ? Normally people with high protein diet are around 1g of protein per BW daily, wont be for example 1,7g of protein per BW daily dangerous for me ? I heard that kidneys will suffer, but idk so im asking here , what do you think ? Thanks
