Lowfat foods

I'm trying to understand why, if I'm hitting my protein & fat minimums, I would buy something like lowfat dairy or whatever. If I keep my calories in budget and fats are a minimum, what's the advantage of lowfat foods? Since I have a tough time hitting fats when I eat clean I usually fill that by any time having the "fatter" option choosing that, as well as using EVOO to cover the gap.

Common sense tells me it's just "healthier", but as stated on here over and over, what does "healthy" truly mean?
