Hello everyone. I happened to come across an article by Jordan Feigenbaum on his Barbell Medicine which is titled "To Be A Beast". He talks about generic nutrition information such as calories and macros, and gives a generic idea of what he personally would do to someone that weights x, with x %bf.
Anyways, what I found interesting was that he recommenced 3.1k calories on someone that weights 240lb who has 35% bf and who is 34 years of age.
He then has some cardio recommendations such as 30 min LITT 5-6xweek or HIT 3xweek.
The idea is that with this calorie intake, body recomp will occur whilst letting the trainee improve his lifts.
He states that if the trainee doesn't lose weight 2-4lb in 2-3 weeks, that he would cut a little bit of carbs and fats(15g carbs 5g fat)until they do.
This personally has me confused. For someone who is at 35% bf, isn't it better to do a simple 1.5-2lbxweek cut? More importantly, how does Jordan say that he expects them to lose 2-4lb in 2-3 weeks when they are likely very close to their maintenance.
Thanks.
