I've been working out inconsistently for about 3 years now but I still haven't got the slightest idea about proper Nutrition. I'm getting gains but I'm also getting a fat belly at the same time. If I have to guess, I'm around 15-16% body fat and my goal is getting to at least 10%. However, I'm very confused on what to eat and how Nutrition works. So basically, I have this notion that I just have to eat all the protein I can get my hands on regardless of how much fat it has since Protein will help me build the muscle I need. Then I'll just have to do HIIT workouts when I'm bulky enough in the end so I can shed the fat off that I got from those foods, thus, leaving me with the lean muscle lying underneath. Is that how it's supposed to work?
