No Gains

Hi all,

New to the board!

I’m 5’ 10” and 153 pounds. I used to be 180, but I cut down from January to August. I believe I’m an endomorph if that matters. I’ve never had a lot of muscle and am fairly new to lifting. Also I’m 26 years old.

I started bulking in October. I eat about 2,900-300 calories a day, roughly 300 calories over my TDEE. My macros typically range between 40-50% carbs, 35-45% fat and 20-30% protein. I consume minimum 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight daily. I eat well by anyone’s standards. I fill those calories with good solid foods and virtually no junk. I don’t have a lot of stress and sleep minimum or 7 hours a night, normally 8 and I work my ass off in the gym. I found a bulking routine with a lot of great compound exercises, and hit the gym 4 days a week for 45 minutes to an hour each session, and bust my ass. I also maintain good form and have been making modest gains in how much I can lift. I take my rest days and don’t overtrain.

I’m very focused and almost never break from this routine. I even keep track of all calories and macros with MyFitnessPal. I have one cheat day (Saturday) where I might consume 3,500 calories.

Ive been bulking for four weeks and have gained weight almost exactly as expected. .75 pound - 1 pound a week, but oddly, I’m not seeing little to no muscle different when I look in the mirror.

Everything with diet and exercise seems right. Is 4 weeks not enough to see a diference? If it is, could it just be that I genetically don’t build muscle fast? And is there anything I should change or am missing here?
