Hello...
I've always been interested in fitness, lifted weights, and sprinted here and there. However, I decided that come January of 2019 that I wanted to push myself physically and not just "going to the gym to say I went."
That said, I can't afford an expensive coach, and while there is a surplus of videos out there, it all seems to evade my needs somewhat.
So, my question to all you who have prepped or are prepping for a comp at the moment:
Should I go through a cutting phase first, then bulk, and then cut a few weeks out from the comp?
or
Do I try and bulk for 2-3 months, maintain, and then start a cut nine weeks out from comp.
Any advice is appreciated - as this is super overwhelming. Thank you!
My specs and routine are below.
***As of right now, I go to the gym five days a week and lift weights for different parts of my body - maybe 2-3 times a week after weight lifting I will run 5mph for 20 minutes to add a bit of cardio.
Currently, I am 132 pounds, 5'3, 24% body fat. I'm nowhere near fat, but... soft - and not hard like id like.
