Bulking Help - Rice or no Rice?

Hello bodybuilding community,

So I'm not new to the workout scene but I do need some tips and just a little help when it comes to bulking food wise.

I weigh an average 150 lb. Height is 5'10.

Now I have a decent workout plan, and meal plan. To get to the point...

Is eating rice essential for bulking up? I have a small gut, which I am trying to get rid of. Does anyone know what foods I should stay away from? I know carbs are essential when it comes to bulking up. But is rice and bread really a must?
