I am a an 18 year old guy, 136 pounds, 5ft 8 in. I am a student so not to active around the day and I go to the gym 4 times a week. I was on a pretty intense cut until last December and I decided to start bulking January. The main thing that worries me is that I think my cut may have damaged my metabolism. Currently I am bulking on 2200 calories. Yes I know that is pretty low. I read somewhere that the average 18 year old boy should consume around 2500 calories so I am kind of concerned because my daily calorie intake is about 300 calories lower than the average amount. The thing is I have been gaining about .5lbs-1lbs a week and I have been making improvements in the gym. Due to this I am not sure if I should increase me calories more than they currently are because it seems like it would just be stored as fat and my main goal is to put on lean muscle. Does anyone think it is necessary to increase my calorie intake or should I keep it at 2200? Was my metabolism damaged and is there any way to fix it?
Thanks.
Thanks.
