Help guys, important question for bulking

Im 160Ibs, 6ft.

Im trying to bulk and it says I need to eat alot or carbs... i heard carbs only give you energy... why would I need to eat carbs if I could just eat high protein... I know this sounds stupid but im honestly at a loss. Carbs dont even promote muscle growth, just stores glycogen which gives energy, im trying to gain mass and muscle.

Im having prob 150g of protein a day, barely eating any carbs and I seem to be perfectly fine lifting at the gym, but people are telling me to eat carbs for mass, wtf why?
