I am 53 5' 8" 177 lbs with roughly 12% bf at the moment. My history might help. In May 2018, I weighed 225 lbs and completely out of shape. After coming back from a vacation in Mexico, I decided to get back in shape so I joined a gym and started lifting again. I lost almost 50 lbs in 6 months and got down to 175 lbs at the end of Nov. 2018 (last month). The last 12 weeks of my cut, I documented my weight everyday and used the average of the past 7 days as my weekly weight. In the last 12 weeks of my cut, I averaged 1884 calories daily and lost 15.8 lbs.
I am now starting my bulk phase so for the last two weeks, my weekly calories total 2450 and I am up 2.5 lbs. I have heard increases the first week of bulk could be up to 5 lbs bc of glycogen, digestive tract etc. I am only up 2.5 lbs in two weeks. I feel like I should bump my calories up but I am afraid of gaining fat again it took so long to get rid of. At the start of my bulk, I started to train properly, switching my routine to Fierce 5 after leaving Planet Fitness for a gym I could use free weights. Should I increase or stay the course of 2500 calories a day? I have a sedentary job and do cardio about 2x a week for 20-30 minutes each.
