I cut for 3 months and ended it last week after strength began to really shot down as the bf%'s got lower. I estimate to be at about 13% and this past week added 300 calories to the 500 deficit I had been on (cutting @2500 calories, trying to 'restart' my metabolism at 2800 calories).
I was able to consistently drop 1lb for the 3 month cut on a weekly basis. Making me think that my "true" maintenance is still at 3000calories/day. Now that the reset week is past is it safe to add 500 calories to this amount to optimistically gain 1lb/week for a strict lean bulk?
Don't want to overburden with numbers but for those curious:
Starting maintenance 3000 calories, dropped to 2500 calories for 3 months, re-added to 2800 calories for a 'reset week', now surplus to 3500 calories to for lean bulk?
