So I know y’all have probably seen this question many times before but here’s my personal information. I’m 6’2, lanky and have been lifting seriously for about 2 years. Obviously finding a diet that works for me has been my biggest struggle.
My question is, can I eat a higher fat, lower carb (not keto) diet while maintaining a minor caloric surplus to lean bulk? Eating a bunch of carbs just doesn’t suit my stomach and I’ve seemed to do better with more protein and veggies. My question was raised after watching Brandon Carters “Full day of eating #1” on YouTube. He literally ate nothing but protein shakes, healthy oils for fats, very few veggies and sausage, and ended the day with Hagen-Daz ice cream. Someone posted his macros and it was something like 400g of fat, 200g protein and like 160 carbs. And he’s ****ing jacked.
With my schedule, I lift in the mornings and incorporate intermittent fasting so I’m not eating until noon. This would get in the way of me strategically eating my carbs around my workout time like he did. My meal plan I developed has around 200g protein, 200g of carbs and like 180g of fat(3300 Cals). Being that I’m not able to be selective of when I eat my carbs, will this lead to fat gain, or does it truthfully matter?
