How do i know what to eat

Hello my name is Owen and im 16 y/o.
I have a question about nutrition. Im going to the gym 2 times a week and im getting pretty serious about it. I’m always energetic and happy after going to the gym. But I would also like to start dieting. Not too hardcore but i just want to eat healthier and build more muscle. But, i have no idea what i can and cannot eat and how much i need to eat. I live with my parents and I doubt will let me cook my own dinner but breakfast and lunch i have no idea what I should eat for those meals. Can anyone help me?
