So I'm a lean 28yo guy. 140 lbs, 5'6, about 15% body fat. For 3 months I've been doing HIIT, bodyweight exercises and full body, and light (like 20 to 30lbs) weight lifting 5 days of the week because I have nothing else here in the wilderness. But I never took the time to research and fully understand how much I should be eating. I was eating about 1000 to 1300 calories a day, focusing on the protein. I don't remember how I eventually decided to learn that I was eating horribly wrong, but now I know.
Apparently I should be eating about 2300 calories a day for maintenance, and 1880 for cutting. I have attempted eating 1800 calories for the past two days, but I can't seem to reach 1600 without feeling sick and bloated, interrupting my exercises.
I'm doing a lower carb, about 40/40/20 plan.
Breakfast
3 hard boiled eggs, peanut butter toast, 1 banana
Lunch
1 cup broc****, 2 chicken breasts, 3/4 cup brown rice
Dinner
Same as lunch with maybe a little variation
I've held this kind of meal plan for months, without getting sick of the foods yet. But it still just gets me to 1339 calories. Does this whole eating thing get easier? Should I just try 1500 calories for now, where it's kind of manageable? Or just keep it where it is, since I'm still seeing pretty good results?
