Ok first I am 6 foot 4 inches, about to turn 40. Recently stopped eating ...anything that came with a nervous system. My confusion however lies with all the calculators that list off how much protein I need.
First the numbers vary wildly from 120g to a little over twice that.
Next, and this is the big BIG problem, HOW do I each that much Protein in a day and STILL find room for everything else I need?
Soy Burger 11g, i can't eat 10 freaking soy burgers a day for the absolute minimum.
Boca crumbly bits - a full bag is only 66g.
Greek Yogurt - again with the 11g
Even Protein powder shake is like 25g and i can't see myself drinking more than 2 a day.
That's just calories ALONE from just protein. How the heck do I fit in the calories of everything else I am supposed to eat when (lets take the greek yougurt) 160 x 10 = 1600 calories 400 of which are fat. thats like 400 calories left over for the basic 2000 cal diet.
Im sure if i was hungrier more often it might not seem so bad, but I don't see how without meat I'll reach whats "recommended". Then there's the fact I don't know how I could afford to eat that much anyway.
I'm not looking for Rapid gains, I just don't want to make thing worse if I am trying to put on muscle, or lose weight. If it takes 2 years to reach the same results it took someone else 6 months thats fine ill wait.
There's something here that just doesn't make sense, and I can't figure it out. Either the reality is people don't really NEED as much as people say they do, the numbers are totally skewed when it comes to people as tall as I am.
