Anyone into 60 second reads?

No? Okay, go back to the main forum then.

Still here?

Cool. See here’s the thing: there is a universal law that exists that forbids energy to be created or destroyed, and instead requires that energy be transferred to another form. Body fat turns into carbon dioxide and is breathed out (mostly).

This is the law of thermodynamics. As it relates to weight loss, we describe this law using mathematical equations involving calories eaten vs calories expended. The problem is that our math is imperfect. The universal law is absolutely perfect, but our math is not. The universe is physics. Laws of physics. We as humans have conceived equations to describe these laws. Our math is as accurate as it can be within the confines of conceptual human understanding.

Unfortunately, certain humans want to come along and say that our minor mathematical imperfections and inaccuracies somehow serve as the basis for the argument that this perfect universal law doesn’t apply to us humans because we are more complex than that. They believe our slight margins of error prove that calories eaten vs calories expended isn’t a good way to control body weight. “Not all calories are absorbed!” “But different foods are processed differently by the body!” “Calories listed on food labels aren’t exact.”

No sh*t, Sherlock, but none of that refutes the law. The law most certainly still exists and still f*cking applies. 👌🏻

Count your calories. It’s the most accurate math we have for using this law to your advantage. Even if our math is only 99% accurate, the universal law of energy balance is 100% accurate and still underpins everything.
