I had this question for a long time, and never found an answer anywhere, so maybe you guys know something about it...
I know when we drink alcohol, the body stops the muscle building process so it can purge the substance from the system. As I understand, when you exercise you micro tear your muscle fibers, and the repair of that muscle fiber is what makes muscle grow.
So here’s my question, the alcohol stops muscle building, but does that process resume later? Is the workout you do on the day you drink or days before it, like, in vain? I mean, the micro tears will still be there alcohol or nor alcohol (I think?), so it has to repair itself someday? Is all the work you did in the recent days prior drinking rendered meaningless?
Side question. I avoid it mostly, but I would like to get wasted from time to time. Is there a “safe” quantity of alcohol you can drink that doesn’t affect your gains too much?
Another one, it’s better to eat my remaining protein after or before the drinking? I read the protein ingested after drinking will be for nothing but I wanted more opinions.
