Nutrition after surgery: what to do?

Supposing you have a surgery, and you need to lay in bed for a month, how much do you eat?

Do you mantain your usual surplus, if you have one, preferring to gain a bit of fat but preserve as much muscle as possible?

Do you scale back to mantainance slowly?

Do you go on a deficit?

Do you start with mantainance immediately?

Post any personal experience, guys, thanks a lot in advance, need for suggestions!
