How is keto good for cutting?

I posted this in the keto forum but no one answered ;/. So I'm wondering how only 20%-30% of my calories from protein is efficient for cutting. Aren't I supposed to get 1g/lbm of protein to preserve muscle on a cut? 20%-30% is pretty far below these macros so why doesn't this become dangerous?
