Eating Significantly Less On 1 Day To Eat A Bit More On Others

Is it safe? I tend to eat too much on some days, and was thinking about doing that so overeating won't affect weekly calorie intake as much. I'm new to lifting, started about month ago. If not, what are other strategies to fight these cravings?
