Is it necessary to eat the same amount of calories every day?

Is it necessary to eat the same amount of calories every day? and is there anything wrong with have large swings in daily calories? I got pretty tired and frustrated with eating the same calories every single day and even while bulking reaching my daily calorie limit and still being hungry and feeling like i have to deprive my self of food until the next day makes me ask my self why the hell am i even doing this? This is no life, my body is craving food and i am resisting it which makes me feel like crap but at the same time i don't want to just over eat all the time and get fat.

One day i gave in to my cravings and had a cheat day, nothing too crazy 800-1000kcal over maintenance, the next day i wasn't anywhere near as hungry at all, the cravings had been satisfied and i ate in a 700 calorie deficit without feeling like i was depriving my self what so ever i simply wasn't even very hungry. This for me felt like a win win, i got to satisfy my cravings and as a result of eating a large surplus my hunger was curbed the next day enabling me to eat less calories without feeling like i was depriving my self, total calorie intake over 48 hours was thus in line with my weekly target.

I would like to know if there any any negative effects to eating different amounts of calories everyday but sticking to the same totally weekly calorie intake?
