US Department of Health Chart (Caloric Needs)

After searching for many many websites ( of course all of them are a estimative ) but i found that they have such a high numbers caloric needs,i always tought that 2.000 was a good number to weight loss and 2500 was a lot for someone who is sedentary, so why every site push the sedentary number to 2400 a sedentary male to mantain weight (at a 19 yearsold)?

So if i run 12km (7.5 miles) everyday in a hour (5:50 min / km ) , i would be eating like 2.600 (moderactly ative)?
