Tall Thin Guy

Hi there,

I'm 31, 6' 3" (192cm), and have always been lamppost thin. I have went through bulking up stints; protein, training; but gave up after not seeing much progress. I decided recently that I need to put on some weight to keep healthy as I go through my 30s. I currently weigh 65kg (143lbs), but I'd like to get up to about 80-85kg (but keeping lean).

I have always been someone who skips breakfast, and sometimes lunch - to then have a large dinner. It's not that I can't eat, I just get too busy, and my mentality is "it's not gonna kill me".

About a week ago, I read about how to bulk up my body type (which is probably ectomorph?), I need to just consume over my recommended calorie intake (which is about 2600). So I started eating 3 meals a day, taking my intake up to about 2800 (more if I workout), and trying not to overdo my workouts. I live in Japan, so my diet consists of lots of rice, tofu, fish and eggs.

I thought I would come here and get some opinions on whether this is the way to go, and what kind of workouts I should be doing and how long/frequent? I don't have a nearby gym, nor any equipment, so my workout normally consists of pushups, squats, situps and planks. I used to have a pullup bar, but had to leave it in the UK when I emigrated, and I can't fit one in the house I live in now. I'm thinking of buying some weights soon though. Also, is there anything I should be careful of so to not put on the wrong type of body weight?

Kind regards
