Its a very simplistic and mimimalist plan. However, before claiming 'it sucks!' I would like to know the exact reasons behind that, otherwise I wouldn't be able to believe it.
From month 10 to month 3 (October to March):
- I'll follow a clean bulk cycle, aiming to increase a maximum of +0.25kg/week (or +1kg per month).
- I've decided to use almonds and walnuts as the main food for bulking due to the high calories & healthy fats. I'd eat them after each meal (forced eating), ensuring total calories are over maintenance & there's enough protein, plus following the next protocol:
-- I'd start eating a total of 50 units of nuts per day (fairly low, but I prefer to slowly get into the habit)
-- I'll measure bodyweight and body fat levels weekly, and:
--- If BW remains constant or even decreases, I'd increase +10 units of nuts/day for that following week (so for example, 60 units/day on second week)
--- If BW increases, but less than 0.25 kg/week, I'd keep amount nut units/day for that week constant (so for example, 50 units/day on second week)
--- If BW increases, but more than 0.25kg/week, I'd decrease 5 units of nuts/day for that week (so for example, 45 nuts/day on second week)
--- If BF levels dramatically increased or reached 15%, I'd stop the bulk cycle inmediately
About training, I may increase total weekly workload if I find I have improved recovery and can handle it.
Hopefully, after the 5 month period I'd be 5 kilograms heavier (at most). And then its time for the body recomposition / slight deficit cycle to start:
Month 04 to month 10 (April to October)
- On April I'd just stop eating the extra nuts completely. At the end of the month I'd check BW and BF levels
- From may to october, I'd do Intermitent fasting 16/8 trying to eat clean. This may get rid of excess of fat gained on the 5kg bulk, and hopefully will left me with new lean muscle gains. (I'd perform fasting because I like the health benefits and the gained time&freedom mainly, not just for the fat loss benefits)
- So what do you think?
- Are nuts alone good for bulking (as long as calories in > calories out) or a waste of time and would create kidney stones and related problems?
- Would I end up not gaining any lean muscle mass at all after this? (why?)
Thanks!
