Hi guys, I'm a 5.7' male and I weight only 103lbs: this means I'm underweight.
Almost anorexic.
My problem?
Training and racing obsession.
I had been a little overweight in my childhood and training gave me an athletic body, wich i liked in my teens.
I'm an alpinist and a cyclist, so I ended up doing hours and hours of very heavy cardio training (on some days even 3h PLUS a little core and strenght training) every day.
Until exahustion.
Then, i started training twice a day: cardio in the morning and strenght in the afternoon.
Still everyday. Almost four hours per day.
It was at this point that i also became obsessed with "healthy" nutrition and started underfueling myself.
I quitted meat and non vegetable proteins.
I reduced fats, even the good ones such as olive oil (and i'm italian...).
I started having little to no social life and almost no energy to even live my normal life.
At 105lbs i found terrible even going to the supermarket.
And this went on for eight-nine months, until last week when i came home from a climb and couldn't even walk for two days.
I was empty. I was emaciated.
I still feel like that, even tho i took total rest.
I still have no energy, i can't enjoy even basic activities.
Yesterday i couldn't even walk my 10000 daily steps.
Right now, i started counting calories for the first time and i realized how little i was eating.
What's my problem now?
Gaining weight in a safe and healthy way through strenght training and bodybuilding.
I have of course contacted a doctor!
But have you got any advice for me?
Or other stories like mine?
