Hi y'all, I've been unable to lose anymore fat. I lost 50lbs last year but it was unhealthy. Lost a lot of muscle. I'm 5'5 at 148.5 lbs. Eating 1400 a day. The scale has not budged in 3 weeks. 1400 already seems so low. I'm also skinny fat. I don't want to keep the flabby chest and rolls. Workouts consist of bodyweight exercises about 3-4 times a week. Will be able to go to a home gym I'm setting up at a friend's house eventually. Right now I just want to focus on my diet. I've read that people who are skinny fat should just bulk. I'm not sure about which direction to go. As far as cardio I'm slowly getting back into running, had terrible shin splints from pushing too far. Should I bulk or cut? Open to all advice.
My girlfriend is 5'7" at 160lbs, she's at 1400 calories a day also. She lost a quarter lb in a week. Shouldn't she be losing more? Majority of the things we eat, we weigh. She also does bodyweight exercises 3-4 times a week. She has an elliptical she can use at her house. When she does cardio it'll be about 20-30 minutes. She also is suffering from shin splints. Should she be eating more and do more cardio? Or persist at 1400? We generally live a sedentary life. We have been trying to cut back on carbs and increase protein intake but our budget is pretty tight. Please help us get in the right track.
