So, I'm fairly new to the whole gym and muscle building game. I'm 6'4, 200 pounds and lack muscle in general, fairly slim other than around the stomach area (although not fat). I've been going to the gym for a couple of weeks now and have a few quests to ask aimed more towards the more experienced members of the community.
My Gym routine consists of a 3 day full body routine on Monday/Weds/Friday consisting of primarily compound lifts along with a couple of isolated exercises for each muscle group on each day (nothing too over the top just 3-4 sets of one workout per muscle rotating to different parts of each muscle each day) with a 10-15 minute core workout to finish. I have done a bit of looking around various sources and found this program to be more recommended to a beginner lacking muscle mass like me, compared to having a designated day for each muscle type and going over board with it. Which generally seems to be more recommended to the intermediate/expert members of the community (If I'm wrong then please let me know your opinions or from your personal experience, all help is appreciated!)
The main questions I want to ask other than if you recommend my gym routine are mainly diet related..
As the only meat I eat is Chicken my daily diet has been pretty much just 4 meals a day, having either a 4 egg omelette with vegetables (no cheese) or 3 poached eggs on 2 slices of wholemeal brown bread lightly buttered for breakfast along with 3 small meals of Chicken, Rice and Broc**** (Around 100g Chicken breast, 70g uncooked brown rice and 3-4 pieces of broc**** per meal). Containing a total of around only 90g of protein! I struggle to eat more than that and I'm starting to get bored of eating chicken and rice 3 times a day! however I still eat it.
Due to this I have been having to supplement the other 110g+ daily protein intake with 5 gold standard 100% whey 30g protein shakes per day containing 24g protein, 5.5g of BCAA's each serving with 300ml of milk, along with 4-6 BCAA tablets, 4-6 Creatine tablets and 2-4 Beta Alanine tablets per day. Is they whey alone enough without the added tablets? is it safe to take the tablets along with that much whey every day?
My main question is whether this is far too much and or super unhealthy to sustain? All help is appreciated!
Thanks! :)
