Im EXTREMELY busy. Every break I get at work, im talking on the phone or emailing while eating, Im gone from 4am until 5pm every weekday (longer on weekends) and from when I get home right until i goto bed, im in and out running errands, on the phone, doing housework, cooking/eating etc. Anyway, almost all of my carbs come from oats. the rest come from whole wheat bread and All-bran cereal.
I eat old fashioned oats because theyre so cheap, take between 5 and 60 seconds tops to make, and low on the glycemic index. Wheat bread/All-bran are expensive but low on GI and I eat them when I dont have access to hot water. I have 2 Q's:
1. Is it safe to get almost all of my carbs from this one source (oats) every day? 365 days a year? (I also take a multi, and i eat 2.5lbs of broc0li a day for fiber)
2. any recommendations on other carb sources that are convenient, cheap, and healthy/low on the glycemic index?
