Hey guys,
I’m looking for some advice on how focused I should be on my nutrition.
I’ve been lifting for around a year with limited success, so have recently started doing a full body beginner program with the aim of putting on some decent mass.
Nutritional advice for a beginner seems to range from “eat big lift big” to “Calculate your exact macros, take 5 types of multivitamin and make sure to get your meal timings to within 10 mins of the ideal”. It’s a little difficult to know the best and most realistic approach to take.
In the past I’ve basically tried both approaches, actually finding more success with simply eating as much as I can (but putting on a little more fat as you’d expect).
How anal do you guys think I need to be at this stage? Are there any specific targets I should be aiming to meet in terms of nutrition?
I’m 19 years old, just under 180lbs, perhaps slightly over 15% body fat (at a guess).
