Help with macros please

Hi

Firstly, sorry in advance as I know these get asked almost every day...
Im new to posting here, although I have been reading for a few months now. Like the forum, most people seem very helpful and knowledgable.

I am basically just after some basic help with macros-I have looked at the stickies, gone through a load of old threads, online stuff-everywhere seems to almost say something slightly different and I havent quite found an answer as yet. I understand there is no exact answer, its what works for each individual and most of it is broscience.

I have been lifting for about a year now and have just started 5x5 to try this out. I'm 32, male, small built-5"4 and 143lb, 20% bf, just looking to bulk. Training at 5.30, eating a load til lunch then tapering off a bit towards dinner/evening. Currently trying hard to watch what I eat but at the moment I am eating too much protein/too few carbs for what I need.

Using a few online calculators and getting a happy medium puts me at needing 2800 calories. In a couple of weeks as I make my way through 5x5 I will add some more. I was thinking this should currently probably be roughly 25% protein, 55% carbs from what I have read. This puts the protein required as 175g and carbs at 385g. Firstly, is that too much protein? I know I can easily eat more, I have no problem with eating a **** tonne of anything, however most sources suggest eating much over 1g per 1lb as a waste-broscience or not broscience thats fair enough. I know I'm not much over, but if 25% is too low, this is obviously gunna bump up quickly. Also obviously means a load of oats and pasta, all I basically want to know is-do these numbers sound correct and sufficient to bulk up? I was on a cut through the summer and I must admit the new carb figures did seem surprising when I first worked it out.

Any help would be great, I fully expect there are some people sick to death of questions like these, but thought it was worth a go

Cheers
