Hi, I’ve been at attempting to lose weight for a bit of a time now but without having results. Bit of a background:
I’m a 26 year old guy, I weigh 270lb and I am 5’11 tall. My bf is estimated at 33% according to a number of measurement devices I tried. Most of my fat is stored in the hips rather than the waist. I have perm. hypothyroidism (as a result from a previous illness) but it is under control medically. (i.e thryoid numbers are normal, and all my blood results are showing no abnormal results)
I have first attempted to lose weight in 2011. I weighed 300lb, and got it down to 245lb that time but after developing hypothyrodism, it came back to 285lb. Since about 2014, I have been (inconsistently) attempting to control my weight but I am faced with ridiculous plateaus in which exercise and controlling food has not reduced my weight. After getting the thyroid under control, I was able to reduce my weight from 280lb to 270lb starting from 2017. The problem I am having is that my weight does not seem to move, my bodymeasurements do change though (reduced hips, waist, arm, etc).
My diet plan at the moment is 2300 calories per day, and my exercise is primarily swimming every other day as cardio (I’ve decided to avoid strength training for the time being until I see some results first, as it has not given me the result I expected in the past)
Advice and input would be highly appreciated. I know that there has to be something I’m not doing right. I’d like to burn off the fat without repeating past attempts.
