Hi guys, I’ve been lifting for about three months (4-day split- push, pull, leg, shoulders) after a few years of doing mostly HIIT and some strength training but less serious. So far it’s been great, challenging but never felt like I was overdoing it, and progress was leaps and bounds. But the last couple of weeks I’ve had some issues that seem really out of place compared to the previous months - some workouts where I could do about 20 minutes of work at a greatly reduced weight compared to normal, then suddenly hit 0% be so tired i barely have the energy to stretch. I thought maybe a B vitamin issue so I’ve been taking them (switched to mostly vegetarian recently) and that’s helped some but not totally. Today I could do more or less my usual weights for leg day, but didn’t get through two exercises before I was so nauseous I almost threw up. I’ll work at keeping my water intake adequate but if it seems like it should be, could this be a salt/electrolyte issue? One issue I’ve always had is everything about my body seems to be perpetually dehydrated no matter how much water I drink.
In an average day I eat something small for breakfast, either have a salad and grain bowl for lunch or graze throughout the day, and something like a big bowl of curried rice and beans for dinner and sometimes a salad.
I do have “a very weird-ass migraine disorder” according to one of my neurologists and the symptoms come in waves lasting weeks/months and affect my whole body, then suddenly change for the next few weeks, etc. Of course these issues could be neurological and unrelated to this forum but I’m frustrated and would like to rule out nutrition and things I can control first!
