At my current weight of 172lb, I should be getting around 69g of fat daily if I aim for .4g/lb of body weight. On average, I only get around 40-50g.
What are some potential downsides to this? I'm losing weight at a good rate, my lifts are not stalling on AllPro, and I feel good. So I guess I'm wondering if I really need to get those extra 20-30g of fat in per day, and if so, why? I know hormone production is often talked about, but even with my "inadequate" fat intake, I haven't noticed any negative effects. With that being said, perhaps I'd feel even better if I ate more fats, but my current diet seems to be serving me well so I'm not sure if I want to add more fats, therefore forcing myself to eat less food overall since fats are so much more calorically dense than protein and carbs. I always hit and exceed my protein intake of .7g/lb, I actually don't think I've ever failed to meet my protein goal a single day since I started tracking my macros.
