So I need about 3000 calories to gain weight (it's about 250 calories over my TDEE). I'm 6'2 and around 165 lbs, I aim for 2-2.5lbs per month. So I hit my minimum intake of protein (taking between 160-170g each day) and fat 0.4g per pound (if I remember correctly) so something like 66g. The total amount of calories is 1250 so I have 1750 calories left. This is my first bulk, I'm a beginner but I try to stay in shape, I'm around 15% bf. So my question is: What should I do with the remaining calories? Should I add only carbs or can I add some fats to? Some guys from the gym told me to keep the minimum amount of fats and shoot my carbs as high as possible, because dietary fat is easier to convert to fat tissue than carbs, which can be stored in the muscle as glycogen. Are they right? Or can I have a mix between the 2 macronutrients? I'm asking because I get pretty full when I eat potatoes, pasta, oats and even bread and cereal. I used to take around 65-70g of fats per day and carbs from the remaining calories ( I think around 420-430). Can I add like 20-30g of fats and lower the carbs? I'm feeling good and I can perform on both low fat high carb or moderate carb and fat. I'm just want to gain lean muscles, I'm wanna bulk as much as possible and profit from the newbie gains, I will probably stop at 18-19% bodyfat.
