No meal prep recommendations

Hey guys,

So after 3 months of not walking due to a knee replacement (I am 21) I have realized how unfit I am (I have very little muscle and some fat, although I look muscular with a shirt on - that kind of look).

So I have decided to change my life around and after hours of research I have come to the conclusion that I have no idea where to start from the nutrient side of things. Due to where I live and what I do I am unable to cook or prep my own food rather there is a dinning hall that I eat at. This dinning hall has sausage and eggs for breakfast however, consistently unhealthy and bad food for lunch and dinner. There is no scope for me to be able to get a hold of any cooking materials.

So my questions are, what should I do? Would you recommend a meal shake? If so what should I go with? Should I use any supplements? Any general tips for a beginner wanting to put on some muscle?
