Cut or Bulk for newbie? Struggling with nutrition and calories: Guidance needed!

Current Stats: (I weigh myself first thing in the morning every morning)

Height 5ft 9ish/177cm
Weight 70.9kg/156.5lbs

Currently eat around 2400-2600 calories/day (Maintenance is roughly 2500-2700 cals)

(I have attached pictures: 1st picture is before I started training, 2nd is at my thinnest and 4th and 5th are now with the weight regained)

Basically I have always struggled with my relationship with food, with a problematic bingeing relationship with unhealthy food, only being able to ever yo-yo between the eating obsessively healthily or unhealthily. I started lifting around 6 months ago and was dedicated with my nutrition to the point of obsession, using myfitnesspal to track all calories. However, I got too focused on getting lean and was eating at a big deficit of around 2000-2100 cals/day when training 4x a week. I am worried this has already limited my muscle gains in the last 6 months.

Since initially losing weight I've since put it back on by having bingeing incidents around once a week. So now I am stuck as what I should do as I don't think I've made the progress in muscle I should have as I haven't been eating enough but the binges have meant I have now put all the weight back on and I'm not really lean enough to go on a bulk.

I'm not looking for some magical solution and understand that probably this decision is a personal one and comes down to what I value more: being leaner, or muscle gain, as I'm not sure I should really be cutting only 6 months into training. I am just looking for some guidance as I'm pretty stuck and frustrated with what to do right now and whether I'm eating enough at around 2400 calories to still put some muscle on 6 months in even though it's under my maintenance?

TL;DR: Started training and wanted to make most of 'newbie gains' by training in deficit in order to build muscle and lose weight at the same time. Since have fallen back into cycle of bingeing and have put the weight back on. Want to lose weight but already feel like I haven't made the progress/muscle gains I should have because I didn't and still probably don't eat enough when not bingeing. Stuck as to whether cut it for summer (I have my graduation and want to lose the noticeable weight in face/legs/stomach I've put back on) or whether this is going to keep limiting my muscle gains?
