Why does bulking always make my skin worse?

Just wondering how this is possible
every got dam time when i 'bulk' or increase my calories i always look more pale and my natural dark cirlces look worse. It would seem lke maybe i'm having more sodium but i'm not. I also eat the same amount of vegetables/vitamins.

I have this theory that your body doesn't absorb vitamins/minerals as well compared to if you are in a calorie deficit or fasted state. BEcause when you are in this state your body will shuttle the vitamins/minerals you eat into your muscles / skin etc giving you a better appearance.
Any truth to this?
