Had a routine check, and this was the only notable finding. I seem to remember (although not 100% sure) that the doc said it's either 5.6 or 5.8 (total). Can't remember the HDL/LDL split, but he did say that the HDL should be higher, and LDL should be lower.
What can I do, nutrition wise, to get this under control? He mentioned statins but I am loathe to start medicating before I see if I can fix it by tweaking my nutrition.
Can this be genetic? My father's side of the family all suffer from high cholesterol.
