1000 cals per day.

Hey guys. Ok I dont know if I'm just completely abnormal or what the deal is. I see a ton of posts saying I need to eat 4000+ cals to build muscle mass. I maintain my weight at 1000 cals per day. No kidding. I use myfitnesspal to record everything I eat. My macros are extremely off what everyone says. I mostly eat vegies, egg whites and chicken fillets. Most of my cals come from protein. If I eat 1000 cals I stay the same weight. At 1500 I start to gain weight. I tried eating 4000 cals per day awhile ago and I just put on a ton of fat. Looked like complete **** while working out 4 times a week like I always do. Rather extreme. I wouldnt say balls to the walls every day but most days. I shot up to 225lbs in one month and just looked terrible. My job is rather active so it's not like I'm sitting down all day when I'm not in the gym. Now to cut fat.... i need to eat around 700 cals per day. That's to lose about 1lb a week. I've been working out for 12 years. I was just wondering if anyone else is like this? I'm twice the size of some of my friends who are just skin and bone but eat at least twice the cals. My short girlfriend eats about twice the amount I do. I can eat more thats not a problem but anymore than 2000 cals and I just start pudging out. Is it just the amount of time I've been working out 4 days a week and my body has just gotten used to not eating that I have extremely slowly built mature muscle up to 205lbs? I'm just wondering if anyone else is like this????
