So lately there's been a lot of fad over the benefits of extended fasts. Personally, it's not something that I want to incorporate into my life due to having recently recovered from an eating disorder and being prone to relapsing.
I am currently 122lbs at 5'8.5. Through trial and error, I estimate my TDEE to be around 2000 calories. I religiously weigh all my foods and track my intake. Lately I've been eating in a surplus because I've been doing light cardio due to the fact that winter is finally dying down in my area and I can do brisk walks on my spare time to improve cardiovascular health. Once, the weather gets warmer, I'll be able to start jogging and upping my food intake even more. So my net intake is probably somewhere around 2100-2200.
So everything seems to be going in the right direction; and I can say that my metabolism is back to being stable after having adapted to low calorie consumption (metabolic damage) and only getting stronger by the day.
But the reason that I pose this question is that I fear relapsing as I'm in a pretty weak state of mind right now.
So even though I don't plan on doing it myself; should an underweight person be doing extended fasts?
Also, would it be best for me to stay away from these types of content for the time being?
