Hello all,
Lets get to the facts when I was going through my early to mid 20s I was walking around 125-130 lbs I'm also 5'10 and I was very active and fit individual. Now I am 32 I have a desk job and kids I have packed on extra weight 160 lbs. I just started back at the gym a month ago with a goal to gain muscle mass.
I am now 165 I can see the difference in my arms and I feel much stronger but I am worried once all the extra fat burns off I will start to lose muscle because I'm an ectomorph. I set a diet of 2200-2500 calories a day 50% Protein 40%Carb and 10%Fat to build muscle mass out of the fear that my body will take away from my gain and leave me scrawny again.
Here is the main issue for me. I have a very tight budget and healthy foods are pretty expensive and I am new to this type of workout regimen. What would be some good foods to eat? How often should I eat? Should I drink my calories at least once a day? Any tips would be appreciated.
Thank you.
