So I've had this problem ever since I started lifting for real almost 8 years ago and that is that I feel totally drained of energy the day after workout.
Yesterday I worked out and today I haven't been able to get out of bed and been sleeping for almost 12 hours.
I don't feel any muscle soreness but just exhausted mentally and physically.
I'm 6.1 and weigh 200 pounds with 17 isch % bodyfat.
I try to eat at least 3300 kcal every day with 200g protein, 250g carbs and 160g fats. Generally slow carbs and healthy fats.
I always drink a post workout gainer shake and I don't use any proteinpowders or Bodybuilding supplements like creatine etc.
I used to do the typical Bro split (front, back, legs) workout 3 times a week but since 2018 I've gone down to only working out 2 times per week and working out my whole body using only 10 compound exercises and going superheavy for 1 set on each exercise.
I've seen a massive difference in my gains but nothing has changed regarding how I feel the day after each workout accept that I'm not as sore as I used to be.
I have read somewhere that it could have to do with inflammation in the body and that after a workout you get an inflammation spike. So my theory is that I already have quite a lot of inflammation in my body and this spike from the workout just makes my body feel like I have the flue.
I have tried ice cold showers for 5 minutes after each workout to combat the inflammation but I don't notice any difference.
Or could it be that my glycogen stores are super depleted and that I need to eat some honey or something straight after I workout?
Please help!!!!!!
