Hungry and Full

Hi guys,

Firstly a bit of background. I have been cutting for a while now, starting at around 84 KG at 33% body fat to 74 KG at 24%ish body fat at a rate of around 1-2 lbs per week. I am around 5"8. Note that my starting stats are more estimated as I wasn't tracking as much as I do now.

My diet consists of about 1900 calories per day, with an emphasis on protein aiming for about 1g / 1 lb of body weight. Splitting to around 163g of protein, 50g of fat and around 190g of carbs. I'm not strict on this particularly and if my fat goes over I compensate on my carbs to keep the calorie count in check. I'm more bothered about getting a good amount of protein and the right number of calorie.

In terms of exercise I do 3 weight sessions a week and a cardio session.

Now, I had some issues a while back where I was cutting too much and not really taking care of myself. I was eating around 1300-1500 calories a day whilst still working out and eventually made myself ill (my liver started to struggle and it took me a few weeks to get back on my feet).

Finally to the question!

Recently I have found myself eating 1800-2000 calories per day, working out as above and still losing weight at what I feel is a safe rate. I am worried about pushing myself too far again and being back in the hospital. The last couple of weeks I have been eating very cleanly, mostly grilled chicken, whole wheat rice, whole wheat pasta, fruit, veg, oats etc (I also only drink water and occasionally fruit juice, if it fits in my macros). However I have found myself craving simple carbs, sugars, to the point where I can finish eating a 600 calorie meal and feel like my stomach is full but still feel hungry at the same time.

I wanted to ask some guys who know what they're doing to see if this is normal when cutting? It seems to be working for me, but I want to make sure that I'm not going to be damaging myself again and just ignoring what my body is telling me that it wants.

Any advice is appreciated.
